Repentance: A New Way of Thinking, A New Way of Living

From the Catholic Liturgy for Sunday, September 11, 2016. In the Gospel of Luke 15:1-10, Jesus teaches us the value and importance of the individual person to the heart of God. Like a sheep that goes astray or a valuable coin gone missing, we often turn away from our relationship with God, but He never gives up and comes after us. By turning back to Him (which is the meaning of 'repentance') we bring joy to his heart and all heaven rejoices with Him. By repentance we find a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of responding to life, a new way of relating to God and others.
